Thank you and hope you come back often. Stay safe! Tuhon Gaudiosa Ruby was born and raised in the Philippines. At a young age and for personal reasons, she began the study and practice of four different Martial Arts simultaneously. Comjuka was foremost in her pursuit and she achieved Black-belt-Instructor status then Mastery Level. Tuhon was teaching the Air Force Airmen Comjuka techniques in the Philippines where she met her now husband Gary Ruby. They came to the United States and she soon opened a Comjuka Filipino Martial Arts school. This was the first time Comjuka was introduced in the United States as decreed by the Filipino Consulate General recognizing Gaudiosa Ruby for introducing the Filipino Martial Art of COMJUKA to the United States. After a few years of teaching Comjuka she was discovered to have been teaching techniques strikingly similar to Laban Tulisan and also Lameco Eskrima within the Comjuka. Master Ner and Master Edgar Sulite of these two Filipino Martial Arts respectively, officially promoted Guro Ruby to Tuhon of the Comjuka-Kali Systems. This is when she was given the title “The Queen of Filipino Martial Arts.” After several years of teaching Comjuka-Kali Systems it became Tuhon Rubys’ desire to start an organization to recognize Martial Artists for their proven expertise and contributions in the promotion of Filipino Martial Arts. After careful consideration to the impact and responsibility Tuhon Founded the Filipino Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 1997. The list of Inductees continues to grow and this pleases us - the Filipino Martial Arts Community. Give us a Shout. We hope to hear from you soon.
